I've been waiting for a recession for a while now. Y2k was a let-down, the solar flares don't seem to do much, and the economy is booming with inflation staying low.

I would not want to buy in a market like Denver if there was just a slight chance that I might have to sell in a few years.

Any comments on the economy?

It is scary to see so many people heavily invested like this. Housing prices have escalated here, taxes are even worse. I still can't figure out how these people afford these homes--well, I can. Their egos get the best of them--like me four years ago. Stretched myself to the max, lost my job in reorg, found a job, lost again to reorg. Got seriously ill. Found a job paying 30% of what I'd made before. Creditors calling. Took a year and a half to find a good job again in this great economy. Had to declare Chapter 7 since I'd exhausted my cash settling with most creditors and trashing my credit. Now I look at these "kids" in their 30"s buying homes at 300 to 400k like it's so easy to afford. Things can and do change. Life can kick in the teeth. We Americans have been manipulated to spend ourselves to happiness. Everyone lives paycheck to paycheck. When this goes it's going to be really bad. Save your money, you will be able to get the 400k home of your dreams for a lot less.
