Costa Rica!!!! We would like to inform investors out there about the
boom that is taking place far away from world trade centers in the
small Central American country of Costa Rica. The boom started
quietly at the end of the Contra war in Nicaragua in 1989 and shows
no sign of letting up.

Back in 89'tourism was at 200,000 souls per year. Many people in the
world had never heard of this beautiful little place--people seeking
to come here were routinely sent to Puerto Rico. Most of the
tourists were from neighboring countries, just passing through.

In 10 years we now see 1 million tourists per year with projections
of 4,000,000 by 2009. The reason is simple. THE COUNTRY AND PEOPLE
ARE BEAUTIFUL.

Real estate values are going up at the rate of tourist
increases--more than 20% per year. Land in certain areas has
increased 30 times in value in 10 years.

There are other areas where these types of increases can occur over
the next 10 years areas that have not yet see the boom but have right
to benefit from it.

Where in a Democratic--Pacific Rim country can you buy a beautiful
beachfront property of 25 acres with a full kilometer of beach for
$125,000?

If there was ever any doubt that Costa Rica had arrived as a major
player in the investment world that doubt was quashed when INTEL
established their South American headquarters here in 1998. Andrew
Grove and CR's President Figueres threw a party unmatched and INTEL
fell in love with Latin America's Hawaii. Plans are for 20,000
employees in a country of only 3.5 million.

Why invest here. 1)Liberal banking laws 2)Real estate system like
the US with deeds, mortgages, title insurance and no ownership
restrictions 3)limited amount of land available per capita--only
about 7 million acres in private ownership--2 acres per person 4)pool
of highly intelligent workers who work for salaries of $10,000 per
year(top INTEL manager).

At Volcan Verde S.A. we are your key to the business of rainforest
protection. From a 15,000 hectare--37,000 acre beachfront parcel to
all of the major hotels and hotel sites we have the listings. If the
major investors trust us to sell their properties you can trust us to
help you the buyer find exactly the right piece.

Best regards,
Mark Kelly

I have a friend who is investing in Costa Rican real estate. Her family's manufacturing business has done business there so they know people and have built relationships. I would like to get more information from you on this.

Can you please give me more information on their government and economic stability? Sorry but as an American when I think Central America I think, Contras, drug warlords and cartels, Sandinistan Rebels, I think hostages, etc. Generally I think this might not be a good place for Americans.

Where can I read more information on this counrty? How can one be sure they aren't being taken, hoodwinked, and bamboozled? Sure i could sign a deed but so what if when the property increases in value we hear of some obscure law that allows the CR government to take my land away from me without paying fair price for it? These are the things that i would be concerned about.

Thanks
Donna

Donna,

I myself am interested in both Costa Rica and Belize, but I may not have enough cash.

MANY MANY Americans have retired in Costa Rica, and I know people who have lived/worked there. It's a beautiful country with a very friendly population. Yes, friendly even towards Americans.

Americans who invested in Costa Rica 10+ years ago made a killing.

I did a lot of research on Belize a couple of years ago, and I found it is a lot less stable than Costa Rica.

To get more information on Costa Rica, simply run a web search.

Risks are involved in any real estate investment, but it's especially high risk to be an absentee investor. I for one wouldn't purchase unless I planned on living there.

Christine
