| | Thursday, August 24, 2000 - 05:33 pm The BayHouse most current credit report order info To dispute on-line at https://www.ai.equifax.com/eisc/index.html you need to have your Equifax confirmation #. You find this number on the Equifax report. Does anyone know if Equifax reports ordered from other vendors contain this number? The on-line dispute is quick and easy, you simply check various options such as "never paid late" or "not my account." Unfortunately, the on-line dispute does NOT allow for any comments, checking the boxes is all you can do. You also can NOT dispute inquiries. And, the real bad part, you don't get a copy of your dispute AND you can't save or copy the web page. Well, you can save your data, but not WHICH boxes you checked. All you get is a confirmation #, which doesn't prove a thing when you go to sue. The on-line version of the Equifax report is missing the creditor contact info for accounts Equifax doesn't consider derogatory. I also find it annoying that the payment history isn't always on the printed report and it takes clicking on EACH individual account to see the history. But, the report is usually available instantly and for 30 days from order, comes with the optional Beacon score, basic disputes are processed much faster, and more complex disputes can be initiated via phone and fax - saving weeks of mailing time.
