suzanne (Suzannel) | Tuesday, April 24, 2001 - 05:54 am I recently requested verification of some late payments to Discover recorded in 1996 (2 - 30 days) and 1998 (1 - 30 day) on my Equifax report. Discover was reported as "Pays as Agrees" but with the old lates listed. I have no lates to ANYONE for the past 2 years. After verification, Equifax now lists the account as "pays 31-60 late" instead of "pays as agrees". My reason codes from FICO now include amount owed on delinquent accounts, and time since last delinquency too recent or unkown." Equifax seems to be using the date of verification as the date of delinquency. I have never seen that notation "pays 31-60 days late" has anyone else? How should I dispute this? |
Christine Baker (Admin) | Tuesday, April 24, 2001 - 09:25 am I would call Equifax and ask them to immediately fix it or provide the documentation so you can sue Discover. If that doesn't work, fax via faxaway.com to get your independent verification of their receipt of the fax. If that doesn't get results within a couple of days, file the small claims complaint. |
