Senator (Senator) | Thursday, April 26, 2001 - 04:10 pm i just did the myfico bit and my score has only increased by 2 points since last august---a 601 to a 603. this is really disappointing since in May it will be two years since I declared ch7 and discharged in aug/99. i thought it would be much closer to 680 by what i have read. am I mistaken? is this a decent score for what I have been through? thanks |
Christine Baker (Admin) | Thursday, April 26, 2001 - 05:59 pm Senator, what are your factors? Is everything on your report correct? And, how many/which open accounts do you have and when were they opened? |
Senator (Senator) | Wednesday, May 02, 2001 - 02:13 am Serious delinquency, high percentage of credit used, past due amounts, and one other. Discover reflected as a large past due when in fact I settled in 1997. I wrote to them last week asking for correction or delete the item. the percentage of credit will be fixed shortly as I pay the credit card down. there are a lot of accounts that are open and rated r1 or i1. What would you say is an average score two yrs out of ch7? and I forgot, a Volvo charge off of a rip off hidden on the backside of a contract, termination fee on a lease since 8/94. |
Christine Baker (Admin) | Friday, May 04, 2001 - 12:30 pm Senator, the average score ** I ** see is probably around 600 like yours. That's because people send me their reports when they have a problem, NOT when they get approved. And most of the bankruptcy reports I've seen have the past dues. Theoretically, correcting Discover and paying down the debt should help a lot. See the postings by Demendez. The serious delinquency is the bankruptcy and should always be reason #1. Obviously, reason 2 and 3 should go away. Since I don't know what 4 was, I can't say nothing about it. Dispute the Volvo charge-off as "included in bankruptcy," that should help too. |
