I thought it might be a good idea to get my "virtual server." As much as I hate Unix, I figured it might be worth it. Had hoped their "server handbook" would give some examples and all I'd have to do is substitute file/directory names.

Unfortunately, I found myself reading the Apache site instead. The "server handbook" is password protected, so I didn't have a chance to check it out before I opened the account. Then it turned out that the user name and pw were DIFFERENT from the log in. Instead of putting all the pertinent account info together, they put a lot of bla bla bla in that e-mail, making it difficult to find anything. From the beginning I was not impressed.

When an E-mail sent Thursday wasn't responded to by Monday night, I closed the account. I requested a full refund, as they promised 24 hour turnaround for E-mail on their site and didn't deliver. They refused.

My cost: several 14 hour days and nearly $50.

You tried to buy a used car at a bargain price from a car mechanic.

Get a DSL or ATHOME cable internet for your computer requesting a static IP address.
Choose either unix or windows NT.

hmmm, well it seems to have worked now.

And I can't get cable or DSL because renting/buying an office/place JUST for this web site/forum is just not in my budget. You may have noticed that there are no ads here.
