LR Myers (Lrmyers) | Saturday, January 20, 2001 - 09:46 am I hope this is the right place to post this. I need advice. My husband was injured several years ago at work and had to have surgery. He was left with a permanent disability to his leg. He had to fight to get his workers comp and we nearly lost everything. We (stupidly) used our credit cards and then couldn't pay them. Nations Bank charged the account off 3 years ago. Today the Sheriff's Deputy showed up at my door serving me with papers saying some firm called Clarke-Jordan Financial L.C. is suing us for the original amount of the NationsBank account of $2,490.67 plus an additional $1,072.79 for interest and cost. My husband and I have never heard of this company. I thought they had to notify us before filing suit. Any help or advice would be appreciated. I need to know what our rights are. Thank you. |
