GOP Looks Ahead To Bush's Agenda

By DAVID ESPO, http://www.ap.org Writer

WASHINGTON (http://www.ap.org) - After years of struggling with a Democrat in the White House, Republican congressional leaders sound practically euphoric as they look ahead to enacting President Bush (news - web sites)'s agenda and resurrecting bills that died in partisan skirmishes of the past.

``I think in the first 100 days we can certainly have education reform well on its way, at least out of the House and being debated in the Senate,'' House Speaker Dennis Hastert told reporters Wednesday.

In addition, the Illinois Republican said, ``I think we'll have the first pieces of the tax bill deliberated and out of the House and should have the budget done.''

Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, R-Miss., told an audience that in addition to tackling items on Bush's agenda, he hopes to send the president an overhaul of federal bankruptcy law that former President Clinton vetoed in the waning days of the last congressional session. But first, he said, he hopes to strip off provisions that Republicans agreed to in an unsuccessful attempt to win Clinton's signature. (emphasis added)

Thanks, Shylock. I'd say it's time people who consider a Ch. 7 look into their options and make up their mind.

Once again, with a "recession" in the wind, we wouldn't want the little people to have a chance to recover. This bankruptcy reform is like the pope and birth control--if you never have to go through it and try to recover, how can you possibly understand it? Christine is right. The game is over. With the first whiff of being laid off, get the papers ready to be filed. File upon receipt of severance package which has been converted to disposable cash sitting somewhere in the house.

Thank all of the republicans. Especially, my boy, John McCain. It's enough to make me want to move to Canada.

I'm not so sure Canada is the place to be either. Did you notice the CANADIAN FICO score factors at

http://www.bayhouse.com/FairIsaac-FICO-risk-factors.shtml

And from what I read while in Canada, bankruptcy laws are much more restrictive than here.
