D T (Dtemkin) | Thursday, February 08, 2001 - 08:29 am Anyone ever heard of them? I just paid them $100 to find me a car loan between 14-18%. They claim to shop the loan around to misc. subprime lenders with only pulling a single report (to reduce inquiries). I figured the $100 was worth a shot.... I'm supposed to start hearing stuff by mid next week. Anyone? |
Senator (Senator) | Thursday, February 08, 2001 - 09:01 am you can count on the lenders to run the report themselves. they all lie and say they won't but they do. your hope is that the CRA bunches them together and they are identified--not unspecified purspose. good luck. |
Christine Baker (Admin) | Wednesday, February 14, 2001 - 07:26 pm I'd like to read how that worked. I find it most interesting that they CHARGE you on top of the commission they get from the lender. AMAZING! |
D T (Dtemkin) | Thursday, February 15, 2001 - 12:31 am Supposedly it's just to make sure that you're 'for real' and to cover the costs of the credit report/yadda yadda... They've been around (on the 'net at least) for awhile, I saw them about 2 years ago... If I have problems with them, I've had an easy time disputing ACH drafs with First Union... -Dave |
Christine Baker (Admin) | Thursday, February 15, 2001 - 11:38 am Hah, right! The credit reports are less than 5 bucks for all 3. Well, let's see what happens ... |
D T (Dtemkin) | Thursday, February 15, 2001 - 05:02 pm Well, I had a VW dealer who I applied through today call me and tell me he managed to get me approved through VW Credit directly (which would be amazing and I don't believe for a minute)... I'm going over there tomorrow to see what he has to say... I could've just thrown away $100... who knows. |
Patricia Holly (Househunting) | Thursday, February 15, 2001 - 05:13 pm Keep us posted! |
D T (Dtemkin) | Friday, February 16, 2001 - 06:39 pm Alrighty, I'm in my new car. They got me approved for "C" credit via Volkswagen Credit... 16%, dealer markup of .3% (hell, 16% is pretty good for 1 month out of bankruptcy), so it's 16.3%... not quite the 7.5% I was paying before, but less painful than 20%... |
Dangelo Sinclair (Amistad) | Saturday, February 17, 2001 - 04:20 am D T, Congradulations!! This information helped me tremendously! What car did you get? Jacob |
Senator (Senator) | Saturday, February 17, 2001 - 12:12 pm That is awesome with Volkswagen. how much down? terms? Congratulations. |
    D T (Dtemkin) | Monday, February 19, 2001 - 04:23 am He said he could've gotten it with $4000 down, but I put $5000 down... 60months. Brand spankin' new Jetta. -Dave |
D T (Dtemkin) | Tuesday, February 20, 2001 - 09:18 am Meanwhile, back at the ranch.. I pulled all of my reports this past weekend, and not a single inquiry from these AC Shore Financial ****'ers, nor any phone calls from any lenders.. I'm calling my bank now to dispute the (incorrectly done) ACH debit and get my $100 back. -Dave |
    Christine Baker (Admin) | Tuesday, February 20, 2001 - 11:33 am Unbelievable. |
Zachary1 (Drcredit) | Saturday, February 24, 2001 - 01:18 pm Yes, the dealers and manufacturers will do almost anything to push slow moving product. If you're into Chryslers... |
D T (Dtemkin) | Thursday, March 22, 2001 - 06:24 pm This is my official warning: STAY AWAY FROM THESE MORONS (AC SHORE FINANCIAL). I call over there the other day to demand my $100 back because A) they never even pulled any of my credit reports, and B) obviously no lenders called me. Well, the guy I spoke to, "Bill" wasn't in, and the secretary wasn't sure when he'd be in. See, she wasn't sure if he'd quit or not, but they'd know in a few days if he kept on not showing up. I spoke to a stupidvisor who told me she'd look into it. I called back later and told them to get back to me within 24 hours or I'd hand it over to my bank (First Union)'s fraud department for an illegal ACH draft. They never got back to me. First Union refunded the money within 48 hours and is now pursuing them. Doubt they'll get anywhere, but companies like this need to get shut down. STAY AWAY! |
Christine Baker (Admin) | Thursday, March 22, 2001 - 07:01 pm Thanks for the follow up warning. I renamed the topic. |
