Erica (Erica) | Saturday, March 17, 2001 - 04:03 pm Hey Gang, Couple of questions... 1) I have 3 Student loans listed on all three CR's. 1 of them was part of a consolidation loan, and the Dept of ED doesn't have a listing for the 1 in question. They told me to dispute with the CRA's, but never said how to dispute. Not mine, included in consolidation, etc. 2)Another Student loan (not one of the previous 3)was also included in the consolidation, but under Fleet Bank. Should this one be disputed the same way? Any help is appreciated. |

Erica (Erica) | Saturday, March 17, 2001 - 05:57 pm The one from US Dept of Ed shows up as a paid collection account with no balance and no removal date given. The one from Fleet Bank states "Claim filed with government/past due 180 days. $500 past due as of 9-1997." So no direct balances, but they are implied with Fleet. What type of dispute now? |
Christine Baker (Admin) | Sunday, March 18, 2001 - 10:33 am Dispute them as consolidated and current. Dept. of Ed needs to show the date of the collection and Fleet is obviously reporting incorrectly. I'm not an expert on student loans, aren't there some special deals with student loans and credit reporting? |
