I just got a letter from CT Corporation System Vice President & Corporate Counsel Kenneth Uva. CT seems to be the "registered agent for service of process" for almost all Arizona corporations.

"... You must dismiss CT. Cases on file are subject to reporting by credit agencies and this case will appear as a claim against CT, adversely affecting our credit worthiness. If CT is in any way damaged by your failure to dismiss CT as a defendant, CT will look to you for all damages. ..."

If this is true, filing these Small Claims complaints against creditors and CRAs every time they damage YOUR credit rating with incorrect data is the definitely worth the $20 filing cost in Arizona.

I wrote "CT Corporation (US West, Inc)" in the defendant box of the Small Claims form.

CT is only complaining about my latest suit against Qwest (fka US West) and they didn't bother to mail their demand certified. If they really believe that anyone thinks I'm suing THEM, why didn't they ANSWER the complaint instead of forwarding the papers to Qwest? Duh!

It's true. It'll show up on their Dunn & Bradstreet.

Does it only show prior to the paid judgment or settlement or is everything listed as on the consumer credit report?

How do we I get a D & B for corporations we want to do business with?

And I wonder what the D & B for Cross Country Bank looks like. I'd REALLY like to see that. As well as the CRAs', and Fair Isaac's.

Christine,

You can go to www.dnb.com and purchase various reports on a company. They range in price from around $25 to $100+, depending on the depth of detail you want.

They have some sample reports available for viewing, so they'll give you an idea of what each report offers. They do pretty much amount to a credit report for businesses. They even get a credit score. I must admit, it's nice knowing they get "SCORED", too. :)

I'm looking at a D&B right now for Staar Surgical Company, Monrovia CA 91016.

Their Rating is 4A3 (Steady) and under Public Filings it says "Presence of Open Suits."

It would also say if a lien had been filed or judgements, etc.

Thanks for the info. I just looked at a Sample

Then I did a search at
Orders

Now I'm looking at ** 12 ** entries for Fair Isaac!

6 of the listings are for their International activities, 4 branches, 2 headquarters.

Looks like the cheapest report containing legal filings is $99, and I suppose you have to get at least the 2 headquarters.

Why is every branch is rated separately?

Comprehensive Report $112.00
Supplier Evaluation Report $99.00

That's a little pricey just to get public records, and I think it's a lot cheaper for subscribers to do an on-line search for filings.

It's very likely that every major company that does business with the general public (like a bank or store) is being sued by somebody at any given time, so I doubt it affects their rating very much. It's part of doing business.

Dunn and Bradstreet remove info from a report when disputed incredibly easy. Much much easier than a consumers report.

If you're going to be doing a lot of D&B inquiries you should buy their CD. That way you can look up any company you want whenever you want. My company uses their CD to look up SIC codes on companies, which we use for insurance underwriting purposes.
