I have serveral derogatory items that have "vanished" from my credit report. Is this normal? From my Experian credit report 1 year ago:

Lord & Taylor
$1210 Balance Collection/P&L

NCO Finincial Systems Collection
$7188 Collection/P&L

This latest Experian credit report I got does not have EITHER item listed at all. I settled the Lord & Taylor account, but they told me it would appear as settled. The NCO I'm currently paying $500/month. Any ideas? Is this normal? The original creditor lines are still there for the NCO stuff (as Collection/P&L) (ugh).

Does this mean that if I go to finance a car with someone that uses Experian that it would appear half decent relative to the other CRA reports (still waiting for those in the mail)?

It's not "normal" but it happens. Just hope it'll stay off the report.

Occasionally the screwed up reporting system works in your favor.
