my fiance' and i have rental property. we are the process of buying more. her credit is excellent. mine was and is excellent w/exception of 1998. had some lates due to contractor abandoning rehab job out of state, partner going south on joint mortgages, etc.

mortgage broker says my bruised credit is causing problem getting new money to buy more property despite my fiance's excellent credit. can they do this ?

we can't discriminate against tenant couples if they are not married and have to use same criteria whether married or not. any thoughts??

They aren't discriminating against you for not being married. The same thing would be happening if you had the same credit and were married.
