I am trying to decide whether to refinance my house or sell it to my renters. I want to get the house appraised to help me with my decision, but I don't know who can help me appraise it. How do I find an appraiser? Thanks.

Yellow pages. Real Estate - Appraiser

Be aware that appraisal is NOT science. The value can easily vary by 10% or more.

Also be aware that you can NOT use that appraisal for the refi, if you should decide to go that route.

You might be better off applying for the refi and having the lender/broker order the appraisal, on the condition that you will receive a copy.
