My question is brief: My wife and I will be saving for about 6-8 months for a down payment (approx 1,700 per month) on a home (factor another 6 months for the home to be built). Are there short term no risk investments that I shoud put this money in to get more interest than the mere 2% my credit union gives?

I recently opened a moneymarket account at Compubank.com, get 4% and they have been EXCELLENT with E-mail communications and phone support.

It also comes with a $1,500 daily limit VISA DEBIT card, all at no charge.

BUT they will run your credit, as do all other places I tried.
