darron (Chief) | Thursday, November 02, 2000 - 03:58 pm I made a deposit at my bank with a cashier's check from a Credit Union. It was presented to the teller at the bank. When the deposit slip reached the bank's processing center, the cashiers check was missing with the deposit. The bank retracted the amount of the deposit, which caused my acccount to be overdrawn with non-returned items. The cashier's check has cleared the credit union over two weeks ago. The bank wants a copy of the cashiers check before they will credit my account. What are my rights as a consumer? It was their mistake, but they're making me prove the deposit when the teller at the bank handled the entire transaction. |
