I'd like to get a simple, yet legally binding verbage that I can have signed by reps for the corporations who promise NOT to run my credit.

It should include substantial penalties, such as $10,000 per violation.

Right now I'm blank on what you even call it. I don't think it's a contract, since I don't need to sign it nor am I under any obligation.

"I, Christine Baker, am ........ (starting phone service, test driving car, etc.) from .......(corporation.)

..... (corporation) agrees to NOT access my credit file unless my account becomes delinquent and the outstanding balance exceeds my cash deposit.

Should any of my credit files be accessed anyway, $10,000 in damages per incident are due immediately."

It's late, and I'm sure there's a lot missing. I'm really tired of being lied to by those phone reps, any feedback is much appreciated.

It would be nice to have a few legally binding samples for consumers to print out and use:

One for test driving a car, one for opening accounts like (cell) phone services, and one to give to your date?

A variation could also be used to LIMIT the number of inquiries by car dealers when you DO apply for credit.
