For those following my 21st century trials and tribulations, I must tell you that the In-House Collection department at Robinson's-May Company has been quite deservedly admitted into my collectors hall of shame. Thank God for this forum, or I would have fallen victim to their deceitful tactics!

Here are some of the highlights:

* Told them not to call me at work, but, called there several times.

* Lied on answering machine stating that I had asked my wife to handle an issue. Also stated that they had spoken to an office colleague about an "excuse app" when they had not done so.

* Insisted that I bounce a check to them to cover a payment--even though I told them that my account was overdrawn and that it was illegal.

* General idiocy and incompetence. Couldn't wait a day beyond 120 days to make arrangements to pay account and threatened me with small claims.

* Used car syndrome: every one is a supervisor.

* When asked "what will you tell the judge when you know you have failed to cooperate?" I told them, well, I guess my lawyer would answer that. Was told that, "if you can't afford a payment than you can't afford a lawyer!"

DO NOT, under any circumstances deal with these people! They are the lowest of the low! Bottom feeders!

Was told that, "if you can't afford a payment then you can't afford a lawyer!"

That's America for you. If you can't afford a lawyer, you have no rights.

And you can enjoy the liberty and freedom to listen to those vultures telling you so.

The government will do NOTHING to enforce what few consumer protection laws exist.
