ADDING UNREPORTED LOAN??

Is it true that the credit bureau will add my personal loan positive credit if I just tell them about it?

I heard that I can phone or mail the credit bureau evidence of a personal loan to my credit file. (in my case from a small car dealership that did it's own financing). The dealer has written me a letter stating that it sold me the car on credit (50% down, 5,000$ financed over 2 years, all payments on time) and I heard I could mail this to equifax or transunion along with a personal letter and get them to add this to my file to develop some history.

thanks for your help!

I contacted Experian and they have assured me that they will not add information like that. They insist that the people be subscribers before they'll add their information.

In order to report credit information, you have to become a member (paying member) of the service, as well as meet certain requirements. And even if a credit has signed up with the CRAs, they still don't have to report if they don't want to. It's all voluntary.
