On the last page of my TU report there is a heading which states SPECIAL MESSAGES.
The following statement is included under this heading: INPUT PREVIOUS ADDRESS REPORTED USED IN TRUE NAME FRAUD OR CREDIT FRAUD (UNIT:3).
I called TU and the rep told me that it has nothing to do with me or my credit. She told me that someone used a former address of mine to do something illegal. She seemed to get irritated when I inquired further. Can someone tell me what this means and how somebody evaluating my credit will interpret this message?

I recently had something very similar, and you should see if it applies. My special message said, "INPUT PREVIOUS ADDRESS USED (007) TIMES IN PREVIOUS 30 DAYS ON DIFFERENT INQUIRIES".

Naturally I'm thinking about fraud possibilities and how that could screw me up, so I called, and got a knowledgeable and helpful rep (go figure!!).

Two addresses ago, I lived at an apartment complex, which was "807 Saunders, apt. 204H"...but the apartment number was left off of my credit report...just the street number appeared. What this meant is that there had been 7 inquires against the "807 Saunders" address in the last 30 days (the complex has about 300 apartments). All the rep did was to add my actual apt #, "204H" to ,my previous address, and the special mesage disappeared.

For what it's worth, this seemingly "good" rep said that previous address situations do not cause problems, but rather, if there are other inquirers from your CURRENT address, then THAT is the time to be concerned.
