I have been a frequent visitor to this site for several years. I have never posted a message but I have learned a great deal. Whenever I have had a question about credit, this is the first place I check. I can usually sift through current and past posts and find an answer.
I am deeply saddened that Sean and Christine have decided to no longer post here. It is a great loss for this board and for the hundreds/thousands of people that will not benefit from their knowledge and assistance.
Christine: I understand this is your site and you have the right to run it however you see fit. I don't think anybody can dispute that. Please know that you have created a wonderful source of much needed information with an honesty not found elsewhere. I hope you will change your mind or at the very least, allow this site and forum to remain open.
Sean: I have always considered you to be an expert. Not that you know everything, but if there is something you don't know, you search it out for an answer. I recently came to you with a question about an entry on my credit report. You did not know the answer so you posted it on the board for anybody that did know. I gained some very good and helpful information that day. I have seen many of your posts where you give an opinion followed by the fact that your not sure and can anybody else advise us. You are one of the very few people posting here that is doing it just to be helpful. Not to advertise your own website (not that there is necessarily anything wrong with that. I have gone to those sites and found alot of excellent information there as well). I don't understand why you continue to be attacked. I am pleading for your return to posting at this board. If not, then are you going to post elsewhere? Would you let us know where so that we may follow you?
On a personal note. Some time ago a person posted that they were in deep trouble with "payday advance" businesses. Sean replied with some options for this person. One of which was his willingness to make a loan to this stranger. I e-mailed him because I was in a somewhat similar situation. After a couple of e-mails and a telephone conversation he made me a loan to pay off some of these companies. Granted, it is a high interest loan, but nothing compared to the near 1000% interest I was paying there with no hope of catching up. He has recently made me a couple of smaller loans at less interest with a note that as his interest rates go down, so will mine.
I am very thankful to him for his trust and his willingness to help. Yes, he is making a tidy little profit on his money and I am glad. High risk investments usually involve high returns. I am not a stupid person being taken advantage of. I am educated and know what I have done. Unfortunately an unexpected divorce and bankruptcy put me in a terrible situation that Sean is helping me get out of.
Thanks you

Excellent point Judy! I believe we all congregate for the same reasons, to learn from one another. One area may be one person's special interest while another is searching out the information and tada! Finds it here. We are all valuable to this forum and I have learned much information from everyone. I especially value Voights information and the time he takes to look up case studies. Christine has so many years of dealing with credit that her information is not one sided or skewed but rather her own personal experiences. Sean is quite valuable I think, as a writer. His ease of wording and elegant writing are a joy to read (and I don’t mean the scuffs that he and Gregg have:) but his overall perception of articles of discussion. I enjoy everyone here. Barbara, Kristy, Gregg and others. We all should look at this like free education and one less seminar we have to attend!:)
Kudos to you all!

Ps: I found this site so real and informative that I requested it be added to our sites front page. It has saved us tremendous time in answering questions repeatedly.

Sean's making LOANs off of people posting here? What kind of a forum is this?

Kristi: You are correct about this being wonderful "free" education. You are in the credit type business and are fortunate to have access to it. Unfortunately we average consumers have little or no access to honest information (info not put out by the cra and credit companies). I also have learned alot from yours and the other links from this site.
Rebecca: I certainly hope you are not insinuating Sean did anything to breach this forum. I did not post a message here. I read his reply to somebody else and e-mailed him privately. The only thing he is guilty of his helping somebody out of a desperate situation.

I second the plea.

Kristi, I can't take credit where it's not due. Just wanted to admit that I really spend almost no time pulling cases. I'm not that giving a person. Most of the info comes from cases that I already had handy from my own research or leisure reading. Sean, on the other hand, really seems to pull out all the stops when it comes to researching an issue. Though with all the attacks, I suppose it would be second nature to properly support his position before posting.

I see no problem with the loan as long as it was, as Judy stated, at a far lower interest rate than was otherwise available and as long as, as Judy also stated, it was not solicited on this forum. Seems like everyone made out OK except for some usurious commercial lenders.

I think that they are both just drama queens, and need to get over themselves.
