I have a charge off that's almost 2 years old. About a year ago it became a Judgement on my credit reports. A few months ago I started getting letters from this law office asking me to pay the full amount, which is around $2,600. A few months went by , and just the other day I got served court papers. My question is, Can I get another judgement added to my credit reports if I let this go? Pls help!

Chris,

I cannot answer that specific question, but I can tell you that as long the particulars (amount, creditor, etc) are the same, it should be possible to get the credit bureaus to remove the duplicate. I had a judgement reported twice, once with the city, then again with the county a year later. I was able to remove one entry from all the bureaus.
You also shouldn't need to worry about them demanding the full amount (particulary at once). If you can make payments, write them and offer a settlement.

They could have messed up with the first judgement and are now going back to court to correct the problem. But are you sure you don't have any other debts that this new "judgement" may be about?
