2 questions here actually. I didn't see the area on e-loan to find out my score, and For a decent credit card (one that has what a cc should offer, eg. no annual fee, 25 day grace period, 15% interest rate, etc.), does anyone know what kind of FICA score you need. above 650?, above 700?

Every creditor has their own guidelines. One might say a 660 is acceptable. Another might require a 740. A third might be anywhere lower, in the middle or beyond those scores. There's no real way to ensure approval simply based on a score and without knowing the potential creditor's guidelines. And the potential creditor's will not give you that information, even if you request it.

On top of that, there are excluding factors *regardless* of the numeric score. Some cards will tolerate (even with a high score) NOT EVEN ONE 30-day late, even if it happened 6 years and 10 months ago. You can also get bounced because of a tax lien (even paid) of any amount anytime, or a judgement (satisfied or not) of any amount anytime. It all depends on the card issuer....and their acceptance criteria change with market conditions too.

"For most kinds of credit, 700 or maybe a little bit up in the 700's. Anything above that is considered golden for most kinds of credit. Anything below about 550 is considered awful."
