Christine Baker (Admin) | Monday, March 13, 2000 - 07:12 pm Sean posted that his "FICO" Score provided by E-loan resulted in an Equifax inquiry. If that's true, Sean did NOT receive his FICO Score, he got the BEACON Score. Why is that important? People relate the Score obtained by eloan.com to their EXPERIAN credit report. There have been speculations and reports about "whacky" FICO Scores received from eloan.com. Sometimes borrowers, or their brokers, can CHOOSE which Score to provide to wholesalers. Getting the WRONG Score on the credit report can kill the mortgage. I tried for nearly an hour to load the eloan.com web site, but no luck, my cell phone didn't have the bandwith it takes to load their site. I didn't get past the top and left frames, and there was no link for contact info. So I'll just mail this to support@eloan.com, don't want to spend the rest of the night on their slow pages. If anyone has a better contact, please send a copy of this posting to eloan.com so they can clarify WHICH Score they provide. Thanks, Christine |
Don | Tuesday, March 14, 2000 - 08:38 am I found the answer to my dramatic drop. My thoughts centered about the move versus changing over two loans for a better rate. It was neither. It turns out that an old utility bill listed in my '92 BK was entered in January as a charge-off for 01/00. It looks litle the battle is going to start up again. It still sounds like from 642 (in 9/99) to 570(02/00) is still one heck of a drop. |
Don | Tuesday, March 14, 2000 - 08:44 am And I just forwarded them your note. I'll post their response. |
    Don | Monday, March 27, 2000 - 07:00 am E-loan e-mailed me. They provide only the Equifax / Beacon score. |
Christine Baker (Admin) | Monday, March 27, 2000 - 07:49 am Thanks, Don! Obviously that explains why the Scores had no relation to the FICO (Experian) Scores previously obtained by some people. |
