I had a phone call yesterday morning from a person who identified themselves as working for a company called "creditrust." I didn't have time to deal with the call, so I am not real sure what they wanted. However...noting that they trade on NASDAQ, I am assuming that it is somehow collection-related (have had no previous contact with them).

Can anybody offer insight as to whether this is a company I am likely to have headaches with? I have no debts that should be in a collection process, but I remember the nuisance that Honor was last fall in removing them from the credit report (creditrust does not appear on the report at this time- I am trying to have everything in order ahead of time though).

TIA.

I recently got a letter from Creditrust, stating they had purchased a claim from American Express.

I sent a certified letter disputing the AMEX claim, instructing them not to contact me, and pointing out that the "date of first delinquency" on the disputed debt was over seven years old and I would take action if they improperly reported it.

No further contact so far.
