From what I have read, it is estimated that each inquirey lowers your score about 10 points. Inquiries stay on your report for 2 years but only lower your score for one year. When do you get your points back? Do they slowly build the 10 points back up over the course of a year, or is it when the inquirey is a year old? At what point do inquiries stop taking points away? Since I have learned about FICO and how scores are calculated I have not let anyone pull a credit report unless absolutley necessary. Almost all of my inquiries in the last 2 years are from July 1999. Should I expect a large fico increase in July? In In my state it is against the law for insurance companies to pull credit reports for car insurance. That helps some. |
