Morgan Appel (Downinsocal) | Monday, May 08, 2000 - 07:11 am Howdy Bayhouse Gang! When I first came across Bayhouse, I was completely and utterly down on my luck, hence the name "down in so cal." With your help, and that of those willing to afford good people a second chance, it finally seems as though there is a light at the end of the tunnel. They will tell you that you cannot get credit. They will tell you once your car is repo'd that you'd better get a bike, because you'll never drive again. Creditors and collectors feed off of naivety and fear, and it has caused many a nervous breakdown, marriage problems, and worse. You will survive. My wife and I had been carpooling for the longest time because I had my vehicle repossessed without so much as "how do ya do." Yesterday, I picked up my new (used) car from a dealer who helps people with second chances. Is it a Porsche? No. But it gets me to and from work at a rate I can afford. Is the interest rate high? Yes, but, given the other options its a blessing. I now have two secured cards so that if I need to rent a car or open a bank acct, I can. Are the limits high? No. Sure, I live a bit more of a simple life, but its well worth it. I find that I am able to spend more time with my loved ones. I still get the awful calls from pain in the a** collectors who threaten everything one can imagine. But, with your help, I've been able once again to take control of my financial life instead of ebbing and flowing. Thanks to all...and for those in the throes of it, you will get by. |
