As many of you may know (and some of you don't) anonymous255@yahoo.com isn't my primary email. In fact, if I go over there to retrieve my email twice a week that's a lot.

Now some of you may wonder why I give out an email address that I don't use. Others may wonder or accuse about the anonymous nature of the email address. The answer to your question is neither complicated, nor sinister.

I checked that email address today and I had 19 new email messages. That's more than two a day to an email address I DON'T EVEN USE. Of those 19 messages 18 of them were spam and one of them was an inquiry from someone asking if the creditscoring site was mine (no, it is not).

The spam emails offered me bankruptcy relief for a low price. They offered me a 96% approved credit card with no security deposit. They offered that I could make jillions at home through the magic of multi-level marketing ("MLM"). They offered that if I had an uncollected judgement that they'd be pleased to collect it for a percentage of the take.

Now how do you suppose those spammers got my email address? Quite simply they have scripts that comb sites like these looking for email addresses which get added onto their spam lists.

Now I don't know how you feel about spam, but I'll tell you I'm not that fond of it at all. I do not feel that I have to apologize to anyone for trying to cut a little spam out of my life. If you want to be able to contact me by email post a message asking me to mail you and I will.

I also am very tired of SPAM. Unfortunately I can't do nothing about the SPAM I get at the bayhouse domain. Several times now I accidentally deleted non spam. If somebody really wants me to see their mail, they better have a distinct non spamish subject.

There is a difference between anonymous E-mail and anonymous posting. I don't care what E-mail someone uses, but would rather know who they really are and what they do.

I think that posters who regularly advise here should identify themselves with their full name, company association and web site. The profile is a real easy way to do that.

Is there a reason why one wouldn't?

Christine
