| | Wednesday, July 05, 2000 - 06:54 am I searched the site for something on this, but it was not quite clear. Is it a good idea to accept a secured card offer from them? I did not get the regular card because my Experian file sucks. I have a platinum card so I'd like to know whether it is worth my trouble to send them $500 to have this card. Any thoughts?

| | Wednesday, July 12, 2000 - 12:39 am I just searched their site, couldn't find a secured card offer at all. Searched for "secured" and found nothing.

From the page: "Compared to most other secured cards, this Optima® Card has no application fee, the Annual Percentage Yield on the deposit is higher and the finance charges are lower." And from http://home1.americanexpress.com/apply/optima/deposit/docs/termsb0.asp "GRACE PERIOD FOR REPAYMENT OF THE BALANCE FOR PURCHASES: 25 days for purchases, if full balance is paid by due date." I didn't read every word of their disclosure, but must say it's better then any of the secured cards I know of. I'd much appreciate any feedback.
