You may need someone to verify this for me but as I understand it, once a creditor sells a debt to someone, that initial creditor must remove their reporting all together. In other words, your credit report cannot show chargeoffs of the same account by 2 different creditors. Now as for the new creditor, I'm sure that they can report to the bureaus, but I'm not sure if they have to report the original DLA or the DLA (Date of Last Activity) in which they received the account. |
