I didn't see any changes in the first 2 reports except for the scores. I think the most likely reason for the 24 point drop is that the program used some data that wasn't displayed on the report. I'm not sure if that is legal or not but that is the only thing I can think of that makes any kind of sense.

Is it legal to display these credit reports w/ scores on the web? I would like to see more.

Of course it's legal to publish credit reports, only the person reported on can object.

A disputed bankruptcy report is at http://www.bayhouse.com/bkcreditdispute.html and there have been readers posting their own reports.

I always recommend that consumers mark their social security numbers, addresses and other personal info unreadable prior to publication.

And while it could be true that data NOT visible on the published reports *could* impact on Credit Scores, I doubt that this "old" data would change from one day to the next.

Well according to Fair Isaac's site
http://www.fairisaac.com/servlet/SiteDriver/Content/1528

"Your score only looks at information in your credit report"

So I guess that is something new or it is a lie.

They give a nice break down on their site. It seems to me that if enough reports w/ scores were compared that people could figure out the formula based on Fair Issac's own break down and trial and error comparing different reports.

It's humanly impossibly to figure out the formula without the help of a computer analyzing many thousands of reports and comparing them to the Scores.

But seeing enough reports with Scores certainly gives one a good idea.

Fair Isaac has always stated that the Scores are only based on the info in the credit reports. That's why I concluded that the whole Scoring system is a fraud.

Just about anyone in the credit biz can *guess* a FICO Score as well as Fair Isaac's software, give or take 24 points ...
