I was wondering if a collection agency that bought my charge off account could make me foreclose on my home loan? The reason i ask is because i bought a home in the inter city that my brother had on a land contract and had bad credit at that time so i put it in my name as if it were my house i was buying, and they make the payments on it. Now that I'm in trouble can they take his home because its in my name and not in his? My brother has since passed away but my sister-in -law is still making the payments and has no idea I'm in trouble. looking for advice.

Thanks in advance

A collection agency cannot "force" you to foreclose on your property. The most they could do is attempt to get a judgement. When they have that, they could put a lien on the house and that is it. If that happens, file bankruptcy to protect the house and other assets. Hopefully some of the more experienced people can come back on this one. Best of luck.
