I have a dilema and I need guidance...
I have a Citibank account that I have had since I was in High School. Shortly after I left hih school I went to India to do some volunteer work. I left the card with my mother and she was supposed to be paying on it. When I get home she not only paid on it but she also charged on it. My mother maintained the bill until I returned and took over the bill.
Duing the time that I was away, Citibank supposedly signed me up for their CreditShield program, a ripoff insurance program.
When I took over the bill 6 years later I saw this charge and I sought repair. They said that they would refund one years worth of the Premiums. That is not satisfactory for me I do not want to pay another dime to them. By the way I have paid the card down to $1200, since that is the amount that is outstanding.
I have asked an attorney and he is quite clear that it is fraud but that if I were to persue it legally, it would cost more than $1,200. Damned if I do Damned if I don't. What advise do you have for me? Please email me at danmccay@netscape.net}

I recommend a complaint with the FTC or whoever else regulates them.

Since they don't have your authorization, they had no right to charge you.

Or, go to Small Claims to get a judgment against Citibank. It's cheap, and how could you lose?

On second thought, this is just REALLY outrageous. It is brought to Citibank's attention that they "erroneously" charged somebody, yet Citibank did NOT apologize and immediately credit back the full amount plus interest?

It's disgusting that Citibank is allowed to do defraud consumers like this.
