My boss asked me to buy a cell phone from our local wireless company for our department's use. The wireless company requires a credit check on whoever signs the contract. What happens to my credit when wireless co. runs a credit check? Why should I tell my boss to buy the phone herself? (Is there an unbiased website that explains what credit checks do for you/to you?)

Not only will the inquiry lower your credit scores, but you'll also be liable for the charges.

OBVIOUSLY, don't do it!

I recommend the boss use the company name and EID instead of her own name, if at all possible.
