Tuesday, October 10, 2000 - 01:18 pm Christine, This site was just launched yesterday: http://www.worthknowing.com You get your Trans Union report online for free (just fill out the form -- takes about 2 minutes, and it shows your report online). It's not as comprehensive as a print report, and gives you a misleading "WorthKnowing.com Credit Score", but it's pretty good for something that's free. -Al

Tuesday, October 10, 2000 - 06:16 pm From their FAQ: "Why do you ask for my credit card number? Will you charge my credit card? We use this information to verify your identity. We provide our services FREE to our customers once a quarter. If you want to access your credit report more frequently than every 90 days, we will charge you $5 to cover our costs of obtaining a credit report from the bureau." Looks like it DOES take a credit card. I posted my additional comments in the Worthknowing.com topic. Still hope to get some leads on ordering reports without credit card.

Wednesday, October 11, 2000 - 05:50 am Christine: Equifax offers instant online reports. You can use your checking account to pay for them instantly. https://www.econsumer.equifax.com/webapp/ConsumerProducts/pgConsumerProducts I find this service useful. One thing to be aware of is that it takes up to 37 days to order a second report, so you might not be able to review your credit every 30 days. Your report will be viewable for 30 days but, for one reason or another, it often takes seven days beyond the 30 to get the proper screen prompt to order a second report. Cost is $8. There also is an online option for Sentinel credit monitoring. Not sure what they charge.

Wednesday, October 11, 2000 - 11:09 am Thanks much, that'll be a start. I've looked for other ways to get this person their reports, even considered using MY cards, but that wouldn't work because they use the card to verify ID.
