Let me start with some back round. I have a Charge-off from Fleet/Northwestern with a last activity date of 12/96. And of course this account was handed to a collection agency (don't know if they own it or acting on behalf of). I am in negotiations with the collection agency (payment for a nondisclosure clause). Here is my question, under the assumption I get my nondisclosure, if the agent owns it I challenge it later and then its off my report, CORRECT? While the charge off falls off 7-years from 12/96. But what if Fleets owns the account and the agent is acting on their behalf. Am I to ask for a nondisclosure from BOTH the collection agent and Fleet. Opinon/Advise Please Thanks P.S.
