Tuesday, January 18, 2000 - 05:00 am I have a old debt from 1995 for 140.00, A collection agency is reporting it to CSC. I've tried offering to pay 100% if they would remove the entry from my report. (They refuse) ----- I'm now to the point that I want to offer this to the creditor. Please advise as to how I should write my letter/agreement so that if the creditor accepts the collection agency has to honor the agreement. I want to draft the agreement so that the creditor , won't think I'm trying to cleanup my credit but I'm only trying to get rid of the collection agency. So the agreement should say Something Like If I pay this debt never existed. Please advise Steve

Wednesday, January 19, 2000 - 05:55 am Look at www.budhibbs.com or www.bendover.com to see if they have sample letters you can download. In the meantime, draft your letter so that it states 1) in return for the money, they agree not to report anything to any credit bureau (if they report the payoff, the 7 year clock starts over), and 2) they agree NOT to respond to any disputes you make regarding this. That way, you can simply dispute the item with the credit bureaus, the creditor will not respond within 30 days, and the bureaus have to delete it.
