I consolidated my student loans with the Department of Education
www.ed.gov/offices/OPE/DCS/consolidation/rehab.html
They paidoff all the old loans 3 total and now an entry is on my credit report for Depart of Ed
The original creditors entries remain. Since the DoE is reporting the debt does that make a duplicate and can I dispute based on item being reported twice.

Please respond ASAP
I've draft a letter and was about to send it out but I decided to check with the board regs first.

Thanks
Steve

The original loans should be reported as paid with a 0 balance.
