Wordsmith | Saturday, March 11, 2000 - 07:30 am Recently, I asked Trans Union to correct inaccuracies in my credit report. They removed all of the disputed items, all of which were accounts that did not belong to me. Besides the accounts that were not mine, there were problems with a credit card account that was mine. (Namely, the high balance was incorrect.) I disputed this as well. Trans Union ended up deleting this account entirely. My question is: Will that account, which I charge small amounts to every month and pay in full every month, simply reappear as it is used? If not, is it worth it to try and have the account reinserted? (I have other credit cards, plus an installment loan, and no blemishes). I hate dealing with the CRAs and would rather just ignore it. (The account shows correctly on Experian and Equifax.) Thanks in advance for any input. |
Don Semler (Dsemler) | Sunday, March 12, 2000 - 09:13 am Chances are that it will show up again since it is on the other CRA's. The high balnce amount shouldn't affect your score, unless your current balance is at or near the high/max limit. Since you pay it off every month, I wouldn't worry about it. |

If you had several years of good history, I'd dispute again for the reinsertion (but it may not be possible depending upon how long it's been deleted). If you had bad history, consider it good, other than you looking the age of the account (accounts open for longer periods of time reflect better in your scoring). |
