Hi ,
I just received my 3 credit reports. On the TU report I got the following in the adverse info "the following item is suppressed pending credit grantor information".This was on a Sears credit card.Below that in the "no adverse information" Sears is listed again as "paid or paying as agreed" "in prior 27 months"from last update never late "This is the same card ,but there are two different account #'s.Should I try to get this unsuppressed? The account does not show up on either experian Or Equifax credit report.

Yeah, I had a suppress on my TU too for a perfectly fine installment account. I never did really figure what it was about. Any of you credit report gurus know something about this? Thanks.

These are usually mistakes and that is why they are under supressed. The only time you should really see that is if the account is either being investigated or is in dispute. It is quite simple to fix, just write to them, tell he CRA thst it is listed twice and that of course is inacurate info. If it is not being investigated or you have no disputes going on w/that creditor it should come right off!

Cheers!

The fastest way is to call them, not write them. In fact, they'll all tell you that. If you have documentation to send, you can fax it or mail it.

For disputes:

Experian:800-583-4080
Equifax: 800-882-0648
Trans Union: 800-916-8800

While calling them may satisfy your immediate need for action, it does not neccessarily work well. Create a paper trail so you don't have to repeat the steps. I am sure most of you know, getting an intelligent person on the phone at the credit bureaus is rare, not to mention you hold forever! You call, they say o.k and the next time you pull your reports, the damn things are still sitting there. I do everything by mail and fax and email. I use Experians email address on their website to lodge complaints. works quite well.
