| | Tuesday, July 11, 2000 - 01:06 am This is my first update on the law firm that I hired to clean up my credit report following several attempts by myself to do the job and only meeting frustration. My frustration continues. It is 4 am and I am wide awake due to my concern and frustration. I am ransacking the house to find paperwork on a debt with GMAC that was for a leased car defaulted on in 1996 due to my reorganization, ultimately sold at auction and was sufficient to cover any deficiency along with my security deposit. Now comes GMAC after the legal eagles challenged it for verification and states they charged it off in Feb, Mar, April of this year (2000) and that over $1000 is outstanding. I am sick. I can't find the paperwork. The previous credit reports just state early termination or default of contract. The other items they challenged all came back as verified. But the GMAC thing is really upsetting. I am due to apply for a mortgage following August 31 (discharge of one year ch 7) and have been busy trying to increase the scores. Words of comfort are welcome, words of advice appreciated. This will probably ruin my chances of getting mortgage approval and once again I will have to rent a dump for another year. I am not recommending these attorneys as einsteins either. I recognize it is not all their fault, but the items they chose to challenge were just verified within 3 months. duh.

| | Tuesday, July 11, 2000 - 01:13 pm I just don't understand this. I'm having those same problems with GTE right now. I really hope that you'll find those papers and SUE GMAC. You already got attorneys, provided you find the papers, sue for the amount of the mortgage! Those bastards defraud consumers all the time WHEN THEY KNOW they had financial problems. 90% of people with financial problems are extremely distressed and disorganized, often they throw everything away in disgust. The creditors know that and blatantly take advantage of that situation by defrauding those people. The few people who can proof they were defrauded are too stressed and broke to sue. Once again, I point at Transamerica Occasionally somebody gets a good sized judgment. And I've gotten several E-mails about problems with GMAC. S/he said posting didn't work, but didn't follow up with details. Anyway, it seems that you're not the only one who has a problem with them, try a web search for GMAC and suit or somthing like that, some GMAC customers seem to be organizing, maybe you find a class action. I REALLY hope you'll sue!

| | Wednesday, July 12, 2000 - 02:43 pm If I can find those papers, I will. I am no longer the beaten up, depressed, out of work, reorganized and losing everything person that I was back over a year ago. I appreciate this website unlike any other. It has given me so much information and purpose to recovering. But there is so much to learn about how these crazy fico scores are driven and calculated (I know, there is no obtainable method for ordinaries to discern). I just got in the TU and there are some (FINALLY!!!) corrections made. Looks like the einsteins did some good after all--except for the GM fiasco.

| | Tuesday, September 05, 2000 - 09:59 am GM has been cleaned up on the experian report. I await the others. I have to admit that I am impressed with the results so far by the attorneys. there is such a monumental task to clean up but so far they are doing a pretty good job. the home will wait though. scores still not high enough and work is too risky with reorg.

| | Saturday, September 30, 2000 - 04:22 am So far i have deleted about 14 on the TU, 10 on CSC, and 5 on Experian. What is amazing me is that it is sheer luck, a question of who stops eating the potato chips before pushing the verified or deleted button before 5 pm. work is done, time to go home and watch the soaps or mtv. what a joke. an expensive one but still a joke. paperwork and documentation just mean nada--it's all dependent on whether the worker bees are feeling motivated to verify or delete. You'd think there'd be some truth to it, but it's a gigantic sham.
