I disputed a few items on my experian report as
"not mine", I received a copy of my report with nothing changed that says, I need to be more specific and they want me to send:

my full name
ss"
date of birth
curring mailing address
addresses for last 5 years
if nec, spouse name and ss"
AND account name, account # along with reason for dispute.

EVERY OUNCE OF THE ABOVE INFO WAS ONE THE LETTER I SENT TO THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! I have disputed an item with them before and they fixed it and sent a new copy of my report. WHAT HAS CHANGED? What is going on? What should I do? These accounts DO NOT belong to me....

Sometimes the system doesn't work like it should. Sometimes you call up, speak to one person and they tell you that you can't dispute something and you call right back, get another person and successfully have it removed.

Getting rid of inaccurate credit information is difficult and time consuming. Just be diligent and persistant and eventually you'll work it out.

A clue I learned from the post bankruptcy seminar is that the request might be for one of two reasons: to not treat your request as serious due to the fact that you are doing it rather than a law firm--I found this to be very true so I hired one. The other is that they need the information requested in order to be able to verify the details of the negative item. If you supply them with the data, it makes their life much easier and they don't have to delete. Write them again and supply only a copy of your drivers license and a copy of your pay stub or a utility bill in order to prove who you are. Do not give them more per the seminar advice which I have found to be very true.

There is another reason why they are asking for that much data. THEY ARE ON A FISHING EXPEDITION TO GAIN AS MUCH PERSONAL DATA ABOUT YOU SO THEY CAN SELL IT TO OTHERS!!! There is no need for any information about your spouse to dispute an account that doesn't belong to you. They want to update their files. Many people fall into this trap and unwittingly give the CRA's more info to fatten their files and their pocketbooks. They used a driver's license number to reject you, then they can find the report with just a driver'
license number. Don't give them anything that you don't have to. Good luck.
