I have two tax liens on my record. I have no idea what they are. They were both removed in 96. How do I go about finding out why I had tax liens?

They should list on the report Federal or state tax lien. Fed liens are for IRS liens. State liens are generally for state income tax or employer taxes if you own a business. You can also look up the case numbers in the county where you lived in 96 to get a copy of the filing.
