David Temkin (Dtemkin) | Wednesday, October 04, 2000 - 12:20 pm My Experian report is riddled with three different mispellings of my employer, making it look like I've had three different jobs in the past year. As well, it also has very different variations in the spelling of my address/numbers/etc. Does this matter in a FICO score? Should I bother with the effort to dispute it? -Dave |
Erik (Erik) | Wednesday, October 04, 2000 - 01:33 pm They had about 5 wrong addresses for me. They were mostly spelling errors. I called them up and said I didn't live at any of those addresses and they deleted them on the spot. I doubt it affects FICO but if you want to delete it there is very little effort involved. |
Lynn Whealer (Lynnwhealer) | Thursday, October 05, 2000 - 08:48 pm Echoing Erik, those factors are not FICO variables. However, it is still good to get them corrected in case there is manual inspection of your report. Such variations are common and easily discernible by lenders. If for nothing else, it *may* flag your file at the CRA's as your being a consumer who closely follows the information in his/her file, possibly lending more credence to any other dispute you may have in the future. |
