Does anyone know what that might mean? I noticed that in my case profile on the WebPACER system that the local bnk court has.

It looks like:

Notice of Appearance And Request For Service Of Notice By Creditor American Express Centurion Bank Optima C. (pg) [EOD 11/20/00]

From the looks of where they mailed the notice, they sent it to a local lawyer about 30 minutes from here. Would AMEX really try to contest a ch7 filing for someone who's account has been closed for almost 2 years now and has been charged off for over a year now...

Anyone have any experience with AMEX trying to contest a discharge? That's what I think perhaps they were trying to do.

It's odd that they asked for the notice to be served on them again. They were included on my original listing of creditors. I haven't received anything from anyone recently about the case, and the deadline for filing for an objection to discharge is quickly coming up, so I'm not too worried.

Thanks,

-Dave

It doesn't mean that they are contesting anything. It is not a precursor to litigation. Neither is it anything unusual. It just means that they are giving notice to anyone who files anything in this case that Amex demands copies of whatever is filed. Further, they want to receive copies care of the attorney whose name was provided, rather than at the Amex address which you listed in the bankruptcy. You're panicking about nothing.

LOL. Thanks Mitch. Just making sure :-)

Far from panicking... If I was, I would've called one of those lawyers I spoke to back..
