Morgan Appel (Downinsocal) | Friday, December 01, 2000 - 07:09 am Hello Gang-- Another grand installment of my ongoing misery with these internal collectors, perhaps that should be featured in the BayHouse Hall of Shame. As it is the first, the vampires are gathering-- I get a call at work today, from the same person who continues to bedevil me. "Hello?" "Is this (my home number)?" "No...you've reached (my work number)." "Is this Morgan?" "Yes..." "This is CM from Robinson's-May and it is December 1st and we need to know what your intentions are..." "Do you not recall the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act? I informed you that I could not take these types of calls at work" "Well, I never got the letter..." "Well, I also warned you on the telephone." "That doesn't matter." "I'll send it again, good bye." Then, I check my machine at home, and the same moron had called not two minutes before (obviously not a wrong number) and laid out the same idiocy, plus telling my wife that I suggested that SHE talk to them (an out and out lie). I saved the home message...any suggestions? Similar experiences? |
