I tried way #1 a few times, only to find out later that I got screwed because the creditor got their money, and I still have a negative on my report. Now I'm trying way #2. Heres what Ive got so far: Trans Union has deleted 5 negative items (due to creditors and/or collection agencies not responding with validation in writing within 30 days as the LAW allows) and revised one to show "Settlement Accepted on this Account" Equifax has deleted 1 negative item and corrected another item to show "Settlement Accepted on this Account". Experian wont play ball. They've done nothing. Which is the same thing they did last year when I sent them a letter from a collection agency telling me that they couldnt find my account. Experian wrote me back saying the account was validated and the negative item would remain. Now, I know the CRA's can pass off letters requesting investigation as "frivilous". My question is this: Why would Trans Union, assuming that theyre playing by the rules, delete so many items where Experian deletes none? It seems to me that Experian may be passing off investigations as frivilous before they even take any action whatsoever, even when the were given proof that a bad debt was NOT able to be verified by the collection agency. Any input here would be appreciated. |
